I feel blessed to be a dentist, simply because I can make a positive difference in the lives of patients we serve. The ongoing personal relationships that are formed with patients in the setting of a dental office offer a great joy to both doctor and staff alike. I look forward to meeting with you and assisting with your dental needs.
I graduated from Marquette Dental School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was selected for a General Practice Residency program at Great Lakes Naval Hospital where I received advanced training in prosthodontics, oral surgery, and anesthesiology. Prior to my assignment to the Naval Hospital in the Philippines, there was an opportunity to go on a three-month backpacking trip with my brother out West. We toured Glacier National Park, Banff, and Lake Louise, and ended up in the Olympics and Cascades. Such beauty and adventure was not to be denied, so after my Navy tours ended, I established a dental practice in Marysville, where I later met my lovely wife Susan.
My professional interests have always centered on how I could best help each patient achieve optimal health, aesthetics, function, and comfort, given their expressed desires and situation. What I came to realize is that while the younger patients’ needs are fairly straight-forward, it is the adult patient that often requires a more complex approach to achieving a good outcome. And it all starts with taking the time to obtain a good diagnosis of the problems involved and developing a sensible and understandable treatment plan that allows options for you the patient. That is what I promise to each patient that enters this practice.
Therefore, my continuing education has focused on gaining expertise in the diagnosis and delivery of general, cosmetic, implant, and prosthodontic dentistry. Besides the ongoing CE courses, I have attended and graduated from the Pankey Institute of Advanced Dental Education, am a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and I am accredited as a Diplomate in implant surgery and a Master in implant prosthodontics. Implant dentistry is of special interest to me. Oftentimes, a younger or older patient will require the services of a specialist, and I partner with a hand-picked team of professionals that excel in their respective field.
I also believe that it is important to give back our time, treasure, and talent to our immediate and international community, so my staff and I participate in missionary dental trips and support our local charities.
When not in the office, Susan and I and enjoy our Camano Island home with all the beauty this part of the world affords. We are actively involved in our parish church, love to garden, workout, hike the Cascades, and bird hunt with our labs.
